Purpose

MARC is a professional organization of individuals who are genuinely concerned with the improvement of reading.  Purposes include:  encouraging reading at all educational levels, developing teacher training programs, providing meetings and conferences in support of reading development, encouraging reading for pleasure.

Membership

MARC membership is open to educators, parents and all others interested in the purposes of the council.  The membership year is Oct.1 through Sept. 30
Annual dues are $5.00
Members are encouraged to join Oklahoma Reading Association and International Reading Association.

Scholarship competition, awards an educator pursuing Oklahoma Standard Reading Specialist Certificate $500

Classroom Action Research Grant
Research a basic reading problem for which you are seeking a solution.

    Baby Book Bags
    Mustang Area Reading Council has participated with the district reading specialists in delivering Baby Book Bags to expectant parents.  These bags include board books, a plush toy, and a variety of information pieces that teach and encourage literacy development through reading to children beginning at birth.
